Most women who were active before the surgery want to know when
they can resume normal activity after the surgery. The answer mainly
depends on the advice of the surgeon, but the general answer is to wait
about two weeks before you start exercising again. It is not recommended
that you do any heavy lifting or intense activity for at least two
weeks after the procedure.
Implants do not drop right away after
the procedure is done. The implants take a while to settle after the
surgery is done and then they drop into their normal position after a
few weeks. The exact timing will depend on what size the implants are
what size your bosom was prior to surgery and the type of placement.
Basically, if you had smooth implants they will drop quicker, if the
implants were placed under the chest muscle or you had a small bust size
prior to surgery, the implants will take longer to drop.
You may
notice that after a breast augmentation, your bosom may look like it was
exposed to the sun for too long. The redness in color is due to the
stretching of the skin where the implants are. You may be able to use a
lotion that contains shea butter to get rid of that sunburn like
feeling. At the same time you may also notice a shininess to the chest
area. This is also a result of the skin being stretched and this will go
away as the skin begins to settle.
Women often want to know how
soon they can go back to work after having a breast augmentation done.
This mainly depends on what type of job you do, the type of incision you
had, the placement of your implants and how quickly you heal. If your
job is an office type job, you normally can go back to work sooner than
if your employment is more physically demanding.
Most women who
have had a breast augmentation are happy with the procedure. There are a
few that regret their decision after the procedure is done. Feeling sad
or depressed after the procedure is not uncommon. A few things can
cause these types of feelings including side effects of medication as
well as reactions to anesthesia.
There are some women who believe that
the swelling and bruising is a permanent thing which can bring on
feelings of depression. The best thing to do is to allow yourself time
to heal and for the implants to settle.
Women that have always
slept on their stomach prior to surgery may not like the fact that they
have to sleep on their back for a while. This is just temporary. It is
recommended that you sleep on your back and that your head is elevated
for about 10 days post surgery. This is recommended to reduce discomfort
and swelling. After 10 days, you can resume sleeping on your side or
stomach.
I found your blog to be very intersting and useful. I was checking out some breast augmentation photos when I stumbled upon your blog. Already bookmarked it and will be visiting it as often as possible. Thanks!
